As January 2025 dashes, Arabian Horse Mais excitedly gearing up for the highly anticipated Al Dhafra Arabian Horse Championship in the futuristic city of Abu Dhabi. Under the extraordinary patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, this prestigious event organized by the venerable Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS) has become an essential round of the show season, drawing horse breeders and owners across the region and the UAE. The tournament occurred from January 16 to 19 at Abu Dhabi’s scenic Al Mirfa Corniche, where the sparkling golden sandy shores, turquoise waters, and picturesque mangrove boardwalk provided a stunning backdrop. THE OFFICIALS This year, the Al Dhafrah Arabian Horse Championship was a truly spectacular showcase, featuring over 500 magnificent Arabian horses. Welcoming 302 passionate owners, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. An impressive panel of 11 esteemed judges, hailing from around the globe, dedicated their expertise to evaluating the horses. Among them were experts like Abdel Raouf Abbas (Egypt), Christopher Lowe (United Kingdom), Claudia Darius (Germany), Emma Maxwell (United Kingdom), Jonas Salzmann (Kuwait), Kathleen Ohlsson (Sweden), Magdalena Helak-Kulczynska (Poland), Mohamed Ahmed Badrawy (Egypt), Sharzad Amir-A- slani (Iran), Sulaiman Al Hattali (Oman), and Yousef Ahmed Al Ali (United Arab Emirates). In addition, our committed Disciplinary Commissioners—Peter Hegemann (Germany), Hamed Al Harthi (United Arab Emirates), and Salem Al Katheeri (United Arab Emirates)—ensured fair play throughout the show. Two Ringmasters, Lizette Svensson (Sweden) and Jasem Al Hadad (Kuwait), guided the proceedings with flair. Their strong leadership and impeccable performance brought the sandy arena to life. THE CHAMPIONSHIP The Al Dhafrah Arabian Horse Championship 2025 kicked off excitedly on January 16 at 10:00 Asia/Dubai (07:00 Europe/Rome) and wrapped up on January 20 at midnight Asia/Dubai (21:00 Europe/Rome). Here are the exceptional final champion medallists, categorized by sex and age: In the YEARLING FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal winner Nouf Liwa (Eks Farajj x Rose Liwa), bred and owned by Abdulla Ahmed Hamad Damena AlMansoori. Silver medal winner Mk Jooreyyah (Ibn Farid x D Jamrah), bred and owned by Mohsen Hussein Hussein Emara. Bronze medal winner Joda Ma (Exagon Os x Joleen Ma), bred by Heinz Mader and owned by Khalifa Mohamed Saif Mohamed Alsuwaidi. In the JUNIOR FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal Tokyo Alsalam (Fa El Rasheem x Amirat Al Janadreyah), bred and owned by Al salam Arabian Horse Stud. Silver medal winner Marrakesh Rm (Sq Wasim x Sheikha Sq), bred and owned by Rubia Bianchi Martins. Bronze medal winner Kaheela (Zeus Ea x Kalifornia), bred by Krzysztof Falba and owned by Jassim Eid Hassan Mohammad. In the SENIOR MARES CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal winner Fam Donatella (Dominic M x D Crystal Moon), bred by Federico Jose Mora- les Jordan and owned by Jawaher Abdulrahman M SH Albidhaei. Silver medal winner Rayanat Al Bahya (Aj Azzam x Aj Raheda), bred by Ajman Stud - HH Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and owned by Salmaa Mohamed Saif Bin Sewaif Al-Ali. Bronze medal winner Kawthar Al Sayed (Alexxanderr x Kahilah Al Sayed), bred by Khalid Bin Said Bin Abdullah Al Sayed and owned by Liwa Arabian Horses Stud. In the YEARLING COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal winner Mk Ameer (Ibn Farid x Omnia Al Hawajer), bred by and owned by Amro Mohsen Hussein Hussein. Silver medal winner Ameer Al Bahya (Aj Radman x Aja Aphrodite), bred by Ajman Stud - HH Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and owned by Sultan Mohammed Sultan Bin Hassan AlShamsi. Bronze medal winner Safwan Liwa (Madin Al Baydaa x Masha Al Haitham), bred and owned by Liwa Arabian Horse Stud. In the JUNIOR COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal winner Absim Al Remas (Shanghai Ea x Fola Al Remas), bred by Al Remas Arabian Horse Stud and owned by Ahmed Khadem Alhabrout Buhelaiba Al Almansoori. Silver medal winner Sq Sahary (Sq Wasim x Sq Sahara), bred and owned by Alsaqran Arabian Horse Stud. Bronze medal winner Yazan Mughaider (E.s. Sarab x Dareen Al Hawajer), bred an owned by Mohamed Saif Saeed Hamad Alzaabi. In the SENIOR STALLIONS CHAMPIONSHIP, Gold medal winner Rawan Al Wawajer (Emerald J x Doha AlHawajer), bred by Mohamed Ghanem Mohamed Obaid Alhajri and owned by Saleh Saeeed Mohamed Hoofan Almansoori. Silver medal winner Fd Rafale (D Maysoor x D Arta), bred and owned by Alfalah Arabian Horse Stud. Bronze medal winner Ahm Motgatres (Marajj x Shamsat Al Shawamis), bred and owned by Ahmed Hamad Sulaiman Almatlaei Alyammahi. AL DHAFRAH ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 A FEW ENDING COMMENTS This year, the competition in AlDhafrah was inten se, supported by a prize structure that recognized excellence: AED 20,000 for first place, AED 15,000 for second place, and AED 10,000 for third place across participating categories. We should also celebrate the achievements of our top champions. The Gold Champion received AED 30,000, the Silver Champion received AED 20,000, and the Bronze Champion took home AED 10,000. The 2025 edition also featured the prestigious His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Prize for UAE National Breeders. Winners in each championship category earned AED 20,000, motivating future breeders to follow in their footsteps.
