SHORT PRESENTATION
The Athal Arabian Horse Show, an equestrian event organized by the highly esteemed Sheikhs AlJazi AlSabah and Abdulrazaq Alhuwaidi, unfolded from January 30th to February 1st, 2025, at the stunning Bait Al Arab Arabian Horse Center in the heart of Sabah Al Salem, within the Mubarak Al Kabeer Governorate of Kuwait. Under the expert management of Mr Kamel Alghanem, this remarkable addition to our show tour transformed into an ennobling celebration of beauty, grace, and tradition. Attending this show was an experience that sparked enthusiasm and admiration for the magnificent Arabian horse and the rich culture surrounding it in Kuwait. THE OFFICIALS
The 2025 edition proudly showcased a distinguished panel of judges, composed of nine esteemed international breed experts: Mr Eric Gear from France, Mr Fausto Scanzi from Italy, Mrs Julie Maden representing Belgium, Mr Marc Veray of France, Mrs Caroline Reid from the United Kingdom, Mrs Kathleen Ohlsson from Sweden, Mr Terry Holmes from the United States, Mr Christian Moschini from Italy, and Mr Lucas Gozdzialski from Poland. Their collective expertise brought a level of prestige and admiration to the competition. On the sidelines, the Disciplinary Committee, featuring the insightful minds of Mr Marco Capelli, Mr Gabriele Gallo, and Mrs Maria Vittoria Pancani—all from Italy—ensured the event’s integrity. Meanwhile, the ringmasters, Mr Oben Gerard from Belgium and Mr Roberto Ceccaroni from Italy, commanded the arena with poise
and flair, further enhancing the show’s respectability.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The show kicked off on January 30, 2025, at 13:00
Asia/Kuwait 11:00 Europe/Rome and concluded on February 1, 2025, at 23:00 Asia/Kuwait 21:00 Europe/Rome. Below are the champions of this 2025 edition. In the YEARLING FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP, the standout gold medal winner was Seetah Alseet (Copperfield Ora x Ajyaad Tameen), proudly bred and owned by AlSeet Stud. Following closely, the silver medal was awarded to Al Anoud Alkhashab (Eks Farajj x Hamat Alkhashab), expertly bred by Al Khashab Stud and owned by Mubarak Alkhashab. Rounding out the top three, N Sarah Arah (Rfi Unique x Bint Wafi Al-Faisal) claimed the bronze, with both breeding and ownership by Youssef Al-Naghimshi.
In the JUNIOR FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP, Sultana Alkhashab (Eks Farajj x Zenteria) triumphed as the gold medal winner, showcasing the excellence of Al Khashab Stud and the dedication of her owner, Mubarak Alkhashab. The silver medal was claimed by Shaikha Al Jasmi (Talal Al Jasmi x Asayel Madarah), a remarkable filly bred by Aljasmi Stud and proudly owned by Talal Al Aljasmi. Securing the bronze medal was Doc Jailan (Aj Eazm x Asayel Kayzran), bred by Dr Fahad AlKandari and owned by the Arabian Show Partnership.
In the SENIOR MARES CHAMPIONSHIP, Razan Alkhashab (S.m.a. Magic One x Zt Fanpsyche) dazzled the judges to win gold, representing Al Khashab Stud and owned by Mubarak Alkhashab. The silver medal went to Berlantly Al Mai (Galahad Juliver x A June), bred by Al Mai Stud and owned by Youssef Al-Naghimshi. Completing the podium, Smg Imani Hai (Shanghai Ea x Smg Idaliha) captured bronze, bred by Smedgårdens Arabstuteri HB and owned by Al Mudhafrah Stud.
In the YEARLING COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP, the gold medal was claimed by the magnificent Euro Alkhashab (Eks Farajj x Malayeen Alkhashab), a testament to the dedication and passion of breeder Al Khashab Stud and owner Mubarak Alkhashab. The silver medalist was Al Farnd Wd (Excalibur EA x Anqaa al Adwan), bred by Alwed Stud and owned by Mohammed Al Kandri. Let’s not forget the bronze medal winner, Sayyaf Al Wady (Aj Marzan x Ghadeer Alnawaar), bred by Al Wady Stud and owned by the Arabian Show Partnership.
Turning our gaze to the JUNIOR COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP, we celebrated the gold medal winner, Kas sar Raghdan (Aja Justafire x Demetrria), bred by Mr Faisal A. M. Alwallan and owned by Al-Shariaan and Al-Rasman. The silver medalist was Sultan Alkhail (Aj Ralan x Dojanah Al Muawd), bred by Ibrahim Matar Taher Alshammari and owned by Al Ali Stud. Meanwhile, Kaayef AlShuraian (Shamal Al Khalediah x Cassandra Glory Al Reeh) not only captured the bronze but also triumphed in his class, bred and owned by Al- Shuraian & AlRasman Stud.
In the SENIOR STALLIONS CHAMPIONSHIP, Ezz Alkhashab (Emerald J x Malikat Al Moluk) gallantly took home the gold, bred by Al Khashab Stud and owned by Mubarak Alkhashab. His victory embodies the relentless pursuit of greatness that all breeders aspire to. The silver medalist was Rafea Al Rayat (Excalibur Ea x Alaa Al Rayat), bred by Abdulkareem Khaleel Ibrahim Basheer and owned by the Arabian Show Partnership. Finally, let us commend the bronze medal winner, Harth Alsafi (S.m.a. Magic One x Cyraneczka), bred by Aalsafi Arabians and owned by Al Molok Stud.
ATHAL ARABIAN HORSE SHOW 2025 SPECIAL AWARDS CEREMONY
The esteemed Best Movement award went to the extraordinary gold-medal senior stallion Ezz Alkhashab. A true standout from Al Khashab Stud, he has a magnificent Emerald J x Malikat Al Moluk lineage. This accolade truly reflects the steadfast commitment of proud owner Mubarak Alkhashab. Gold medal champion junior colt Kassar Raghdan, boasting Aja Justafire x Demetria’s lineage, also claimed the Best Head title. Bred by the distinguished Mr Faisal A. M. Alwallan and co.owned by Al-Shariaan and Al-Rasman, this young horse represents the pinnacle of breed excellence. Mr Mubarak Alkhashab of Al Khashab Stud won the Best Farm award, which recognised his exceptional facility care and the unquestionable superior quality of his horses. Five of his contenders won medals in the championship finals. Lastly, silver medal champion senior mare Berlanty Al Mai, an exquisite prospect from Al Mai Stud (Galahad Juliver x A June), owned by Youssef Al-Naghimshi, took home the Highest Score of the Show. Participating in the Athal Arabian Horse Show 2025 has been an awe-inspiring journey for Arabian Horse Magazine. Each return to Kuwait ignites our sense of adventure, as this remarkable region is home to some of the world’s most extraordinary Arabian horses. The beauty and heritage found here are not just memorable. They are transformative. These magnificent creatures have been a cornerstone of Kuwait’s culture for centuries, symbolizing elegance, strength, and resilience.

members of the Organizing Committee for bringing this prestigious morphology event to life.
